ENGINEERING

NBU’s Engineering division operates as a dedicated technical unit staffed by a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, materials, and manufacturing engineers with extensive experience in heavy industry applications.

Our engineers manage projects end-to-end — from initial technical specification and feasibility analysis through CAD/CAM design, FEA simulation, material selection, and process validation — ensuring full traceability and compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and UNE-EN 15085-2 CL1 standards. We work in close collaboration with clients’ technical departments, providing engineering support for new component development, design optimization, technical documentation, and qualification protocols.

Each project is assigned a dedicated engineering lead, guaranteeing continuity, accountability, and a single technical point of contact throughout the entire lifecycle.

Reverse Engineering

Our Reverse Engineering capability enables the accurate reproduction of obsolete, discontinued, or undocumented components for which original drawings, specifications, or technical support are no longer available.

The process integrates high-precision 3D scanning, CMM (coordinate measuring machine) inspection, and dimensional metrology with metallurgical analysis — including spectrometry, hardness testing, microstructural examination, and surface treatment characterization — to fully reconstruct geometry, tolerances, and material properties.

Reverse-engineered components are then redrawn in parametric CAD, validated through FEA where required, and released to production using our hybrid manufacturing capabilities (subtractive and additive).

This approach allows NBU to deliver fully equivalent replacement parts for aeroderivative and industrial gas turbines, heavy-duty mining equipment, refineries, water treatment plants, and nuclear consumables, restoring functionality to legacy assets without compromising performance, reliability, or compliance.
